AMPPD is a chemiluminescent substrate for alkaline phosphatase. With the enzyme’s catalytic hydrolysis, AMPPD decomposes into AMP-D, emitting a very strong light signal in an appropriate buffer. The intensity of the luminescence depends on the concentration of alkaline phosphatase. When alkaline phosphatase is coupled to the hybridized probe, the presence of hybridized molecules can be detected through this system.
